Music at Mark Cross CEA Primary School
Music plays an integral part throughout the community of Mark Cross Church of England Aided Primary School. Through this particular aspect of the arts, we allow our children to express creativity in their listening, appraising, performance and composition of music. We give our children the opportunity to participate in music as a whole school and as part of our wider Christian community, where singing plays an important role in performances, collective worship and services. We focus on developing the skills, knowledge and understanding that children need to become confident performers, composers, and listeners. Our curriculum introduces children to music from all around the world and across generations, teaching children to respect and appreciate the music of all traditions and communities. Ultimately, we want to help children feel that they are musical and to develop a life-long love of music.
