Breakfast and After School Clubs starting here from 25th February 2019!

Breakfast and After School Clubs - the future

Our trial period is nearly at an end and we have been evaluating all aspects of these clubs from quality of provision and impact to attendance and the financial position.

We very much regret that we will not able to financially sustain either of these clubs from September 2019 and so they will cease from 19.07.19. We were really hoping that this would not be the outcome and know how valuable this provision has been to several families. We thank you for your support.

We have been really pleased with Premier’s provision and feedback from families who have attended has been really positive. Unfortunately, we have not had enough take up to cover the costs and with budgets being very tight, we are unable to cover the shortfall.

As an alternative, Pennies (the childcare provider next door) have revised their breakfast and after school club provision.

Pennies Breakfast Club runs from 07.00 and the children are then brought to school. The cost is £6 per session and breakfast is included.

Pennies After School Club runs until 18.30 and the children are collected from school. The cost is £10 per session and a hot meal is provided.

Breakfast and After School Clubs

Following our Breakfast and After School Club consultation, we have been exploring options and considering what we can provide. We wanted the clubs to be for all year groups and to be a real opportunity for the children to access different activities and opportunities beyond the school day, delivered by quality professionals.

From 25th February 2019, we will be offering Breakfast and After School Clubs on a daily basis. We are partnering with Premier who has many years’ experience in running clubs in schools. All Premier Coaches are DBS checked and have safeguarding and Emergency First Aid certification. This is a fantastic opportunity for all children to be able to access. We have committed to providing these clubs until the end of the summer term (19.07.19). We sincerely hope that it will continue from there. However, for that to happen, it does need to be used by our families. To find out more about Premier, please visit: https://www.premier-education.com

Breakfast Club: Will encourage understanding of the connections between exercise, food, nutrition and health. The sessions are multi skills based and are aimed at improving fundamental skills such as balance and co-ordination through fun games and activities. The sessions are not sport/activity specific so encourage those who might avoid competitive sport or activities.

After School Club: Will feature a range of different activities such as fun games, board games, sports activities and arts & crafts. These will take place in the school environment under the supervision of qualified and experienced Premier Activity Professionals. By placing the emphasis on inclusion rather than specific sport skills and techniques, children are encouraged to have fun. This in turn improves social skills, self-esteem, balance, co-ordination and physical wellbeing.
